Our Stallholders - Here is a taste of who we have at our Marketdaze events
Berry Beads is a small home-based business in Perth, Western Australia where I have been making and selling my creations at various markets and craft fairs since 2002. I have been a regular at The Murdoch Student Guild Marketdaze since September 2007 and I love meeting new customers & catching up with my regular customers most Thursdays during teaching weeks!!
I’ve always enjoyed being creative and my inspiration comes from the beauty and colours of nature. From the blue and green tones of the sea, the beautiful colours of the Australian bush and forests to the glorious colours of flowers in the garden….. I love them all.
Using a variety of components and materials, my handmade creations are colourful, fun and in a range of colours and styles. Berry Beads has always aimed to bring beauty and a little bit of fun into people lives at an affordable price. My jewellery is created in either small batches or as unique pieces. I use a variety of different beads (wood, metal, resin, glass, porcelain & acrylic), most of them are new but I also use beads and components repurposed from old necklaces to make my creations more special and unique.
All wooden or mixed bead necklaces are adjustable and the cord used is waxed cotton and for the pendant/charm necklaces, there are waxed cotton cords or nickel-free chains. All charms and metal components are nickel-free, low allergy metals. Sterling Silver hooks are also available for a small extra fee. Clip-ons (if required) are available too.
Also available at Marketdaze are various loose pendants, bracelets, pendant necklaces, brooches and of course…. lots & lots of earrings!!! Most of these items have been handmade by myself but some have been brought in.
Some other items that I have not made are the leather & cotton cords, the fun & cute pins/badges and all of the colourful scarves & wraps. These items finish off the eclectic mix of colourful, fun jewellery and accessories that you can find at my stall at Marketdaze. I can make custom orders too.
John has been coming to Murdoch for many years and has a huge selection of second hand books. In the mid 80’s John managed a stationary store in Fremantle which also sold books and that’s what peaked his interest in books. John’s most popular books are classics, non-fiction, sci fi and good quality fiction. Come by and have a look when he’s here on Thursdays of teaching weeks.
I’m Judy and I operate ‘Just For You’.
I live in Booragoon and have been an Early childhood Education Assistant for 30 years all in the City of Melville area, in fact, there are students attending the Uni that I had as Pre Primary students – how cool is that?
I retired at the end of 2014 and spent the next year enjoying my Grandchildren, doing some volunteering work, and thinking about what my retirement years would look like. I needed something that would keep my brain active and a social and community connection.
I have always enjoyed sewing, over the years it has been a great hobby. With my experience working with young children I felt there was a market for kids aprons and library bags. I made a collection and had a stall at Melville rotary markets where I met a Lady who suggested Murdoch Uni Guild Marketdaze on Thursdays for a stall, where I have been for 4 years.
Over this time, I have added and subtracted designs and pieces according to demand. I take great pride in everything I make, it is all made with love.
I love making the kids aprons and know how much kids will love wearing them, they are still my most popular seller. I have added matching sets recently, they are a popular gift.
I continually have returning customers and enjoy all the wonderful feedback.
I thoroughly enjoy my involvement each Thursday, as a result have made some lovely friends.
Heaven Scent – Home, Bath & Body was born in 2019 after I had a serious car accident, losing my job in the process.
I found candle and soap making was therapeutic, helping my mental health no end.
Through Heaven Scent, I have found I have a creative streak in me. To create a new soap and have it applauded by clients is a rush like no other. I endeavor to use responsibly resourced products, with absolutely no testing on animals. I like to offer reasonably priced, quality products that are gentle on the skin.
