Event Planning Tips
Budget like a boss!
You don’t need to lose money to have fun! Budget your event well and take full advantage of the Guild Funding available so that your event breaks even or makes your club some money for the next one!
Here are some money-saving tips for your events:
- Use Guild craft, paint or event materials instead of buying new.
- Guild Tavern is free for hire during open hours.
- All on-campus venues (The Base, Student Hub, Launchpad) can be hired by clubs for free – contact roombook@murdoch.edu.au.
- Try to negotiate for bulk price catering if you are organising a large event.
- Sell tickets for a small fee to cover costs. You can also charge discounted tickets for members to encourage new sign-ups.
- Fundraise for your event by signing up to do a Guild BBQ.

Store your equipment in a Club Locker
Store your materials in a Club Locker
Clubs can register for their own locker and use it to store any signage or materials they’d like to keep on campus. Lockers can be found in the corridor in Amenities Building 490 in between Guild offices and Kulbardi.
