Volunteering with community organisations is a great way to meet people in the industry you are interested in, develop new skills and experience, and give back to the community. These opportunities are external to Murdoch Guild Volunteering, but we’ve picked out opportunities we think would be beneficial to the community and to you!


Aged Care

Various Roles

For Brightwater Care Group
Location: Various locations – WA
The Brightwater Care Group is one of the largest and best known providers of residential accommodation in Western Australia with 23 facilities located from Joondalup to Mandurah. 13 of these provide accommodation for older people, two facilities are dedicated to people living with Huntington’s Disease and the remaining eight facilities provide a range of rehabilitation and residential accommodation for younger people with disabilities.

For Association for Services to Torture and Trauma Survivors (ASeTTS)
Location: Perth, WA
Be a Community Coach and be a positive connection for refugees living in Perth by helping ASeTTS, an assistance and counselling service for refugees.

Crisis Line Volunteers

For Samaritans
Location: Subiaco, WA
Volunteer for the Samaritans Crisis Line to provide invaluable support to people in crisis and gain invaluable people experience.

Spend time one-on-one with players with intellectual and physical disabilities as they enjoy all the social, physical and psychological benefits of lawn bowls.

Fremantle CoderDojo Mentors

For City of Fremantle
Location: Fremantle City Library
Spend time helping young people (Ninjas!) who are working on creative digital projects and support them in a fun, free and social open learning environment. Meet other people with similar interests, develop your teamwork, communication, organisation and leadership skills and make a difference at the same time!

Learning Club Tutor

Assist kids develop their literacy and social skills with the Smith Family as a Learning Club Tutor.


Working with Animals
