There are a number of free and low cost legal advice services in the area. Get the right advice and make sure you know your rights as an employee, an individual and a tenant.

Welfare Rights & Advocacy Service

They can provide independent advice, information, referral and ongoing casework assistance including representation and advocacy if you have a:

  • Centrelink issue;
  • Family Assistance Office issue;
  • Residential Tenancy issue (including private and public housing)**; or
  • Social Security Prosecution issue.

Fremantle Community Legal Centre

Fremantle based service, available to low income earners in and around Fremantle, Cockburn and Melville areas. Services include: Financial Counselling, Legal Advice, Tenancy Advocacy, Information on Dept. of Housing and Advice/Assistance on Welfare Rights.

Southern Communities Advocacy, Legal & Education service (SCALES)

Offers initial legal advice and referral for people living or working in the Rockingham, Kwinana, Mandurah and Pinjarra areas. Service available by appointment only.

Circle Green Community Legal

For the cost of a local call from anywhere in the state, advisors are available to provide legal advice and information. If the advisors are not able to help you they will refer you to another service within legal aid or to another organisation.
