May Report

• Clubs and Societies debrief: I would like to thank all that helped out to make the day the success it was. I appreciate all council’s efforts but would like to acknowledge Troy and Megs who went above and beyond their call of duty in picking up shifts. I’d also like to acknowledge MESS for winning this year’s tug-o-war and to all participating clubs (who I’m sure will be hot on their heels preparing next year to take the title)! Also, congrats also to MUD & MUPSA respectively for taking out the best decorated stall competition.
• Considered looking into the viability of phone lines in council room however a better alternative was provided where the meeting room will be open and accessible to council.
• I have held two grants approval sessions since the last meeting and various clubs had grants approved/part approved.
• I passed on my paint colour preference to Alana who has now left, will follow up and resubmit it to Will to send to the University. I have also requested that all clubs with personal storage in the clubs room have it removed as the room is no longer going to be used for the purpose of club storage but more so for an actual clubs and societies common room where use is not exclusive to clubs. Because of this I have been unable to organise the mixer.
• Guy, Ash and myself had a Financial Budget Seminar to give club leaders the chance to provide feedback. We also wanted to propose an outline (formalise) for what clubs can claim on in grants approvals ie retrospective purchases, t-shirts…
• Sat in on various EBA negotiations representing the Guild Council.
