Murdoch University’s very own community garden, where people of all experience levels come together to learn and share knowledge on various aspects of gardening and food production. With over 80sqm of communal garden beds, aquaponics and more space to expand – room for everyone to plant their own plants and small enough to have a sense of community. If there’s something that you would like to grow but aren’t sure how to, then come on down and learn how to keep your plants happy and healthy, organically. Another perk of joining is that you get to have a share in any of the produce ranging from Amaranth to Zucchini and everything in between.
We operate at the Environmental Technology Centre (ETC) – here we are creating a dynamic space for students and the wider community that offers local food growing and learning, inclusive community, career networking and collaboration, environmental education and a sanctuary from urban city life. We also demonstrate the principals of permaculture design and organic gardening. We run workshops, gatherings and events, university-partnered education and supply fresh self-managed produce for volunteers.
Due to being non-profit we have a $10 membership fee, which helps with day to day running costs.
We meet at the garden every Monday and Wednesday from 3:30pm onwards.
Come check out the beautiful grounds for yourself and find out more, we would love to meet you and show you around.
