ASeTTS requires volunteers to be Community Coaches in order to assist their clients. Community Coaches provide practical assistance to refugees in matters such as …
- public transport and travel training
- introduction to services and activities in their new communities
- assistance to build new social networks
- English practice
- homework help for children
Volunteers work as part of a team with our professional staff to help our clients on their recovery journey, and successfully resettle in WA, and typically volunteer for 1-2 hours per week (but this varies, and a range of commitment levels are available). ASeTTS always tries to link the client’s needs with the volunteer’s availability and interests.
WHY VOLUNTEER FOR ASeTTS?
ASeTTS’ clients sometimes have complex problems that require attention and support, and these problems are often made worse through being in a foreign culture where the language, climate, and lifestyle are different. Through our Project Connect volunteer program, ASeTTS can connect their clients with their new community.
